How Pet Owners Can Protect Their HVAC System
Pets can be wonderful and adorable companions. Unfortunately, they can also create a unique set of troubles for your HVAC system in England, AR, that you need to know how to fix. Here’s how pet owners can protect their HVAC system so that it functions effectively and efficiently without wasting energy:
Wash and Brush Your Pets
Your pets will naturally shed their fur and dander as they run around your home. After playing outside for any significant length of time, pollen, dirt and even small insects will attach to them. Since all these things can be serious threats to your home’s indoor air quality, you must carefully wash your pets regularly.
Besides their adverse impact on the cleanliness of your air, the above-mentioned pollutants will also interfere with your HVAC system’s ability to do its work. They will attach to your system’s filters, get into its ducts, infiltrate its most critical components and threaten to severely compromise its efficiency. Your best response would be to prevent or mitigate these issues by thoroughly washing and brushing your pets.
Vacuum, Dust and Wipe Everything
As your pets shed dander or scatter dirt, pollutants can wind up almost anywhere in your home. To remove the danger these things pose to your HVAC system, you must meticulously clean your home. Vacuum your carpets and furniture upholstery. Wipe all hard surfaces with cleaner and a damp cloth and be sure to dust absolutely everywhere.
Schedule HVAC Maintenance
However hard you work to keep everything spotless, it may not be enough. Pet dander is tiny, and you won’t be able to completely prevent it from getting into your HVAC system.
Luckily, our service techs can clean everything you’ve missed and keep your HVAC system in excellent shape. All you have to do is remember to schedule AC maintenance at least once per year.
With enough care, foresight and common sense, you won’t need to compromise between your pets, comfort and HVAC system. Call Pine Bluff Heating & Air to schedule an AC repair if your air conditioner requires a fix to run effectively and efficiently again.
